Build a Honeycomb Garden
The hexagon isn't just a pretty shape! It's the only garden bed geometry that tiles seamlessly. Arrange two or three beds edge-to-edge and you get a honeycomb layout that turns a plain corner of the yard into a centerpiece, with natural walking paths between the cells. Stack a second or third tier on one cell and you've added a raised focal point — taller beds for deep-rooted crops, lower beds for sprawling greens, all in one connected design. Check the product gallery to see single, double, and triple-unit configurations in real backyards.
What to Grow in a Hexagonal Raised Bed
The six-sided layout is surprisingly practical for planting: put tall or thirsty plants like tomatoes or peppers at the center, ring them with herbs and salad greens along the edges where they're easy to reach, and let trailing plants like strawberries or nasturtiums spill over the sides. A stacked two-tier bed gives you 20 inches of soil depth — enough for carrots, potatoes, and other root crops that struggle in shallow planters.
Here along Colorado's Front Range, raised beds are one of the best ways to work with our short growing season: the soil warms up weeks earlier in spring than the ground does, and the contained bed makes it easy to throw a frost cloth over late plantings. Pair one with a cold frame and you can be harvesting greens while there's still snow on the fence line.
Crafted for Strength and Style
Each unit is molded with a realistic wood-grain texture in a deep anthracite finish — the timeless look of a timber bed without the annual maintenance. The UV-stabilized, moisture-resistant polypropylene shrugs off intense high-altitude sun, freeze-thaw cycles, and summer hail that would splinter and gray a wooden bed within a few seasons. It's built to sit outside year-round, decade after decade, and it's backed by a 5-year limited warranty for peace of mind.
Snap-Together Assembly — No Tools Required
The panels click together by hand in minutes: no screws, no drill, no hardware to lose. Set the bed where you want it, snap the sides together, fill with soil, and plant the same afternoon. Stacking a second tier is just as simple. You can download the assembly guide or watch the assembly video on this page to see the whole process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the material safe for growing vegetables?
Yes. The bed is made from BPA-free polypropylene that's safe for edible gardens. Grow vegetables, herbs, and fruit with confidence.
Is it environmentally friendly?
The beds are manufactured in Germany from recycled plastic, and because they last for decades without treatment, you're not replacing rotted lumber (or re-applying stains and sealers) every few years.
Will it hold up to sun, freezing, and hail?
Yes! The polypropylene is UV-stabilized and moisture resistant, designed to stay outdoors year-round through hot summers and freezing winters. It handles Colorado's intense sun and freeze-thaw swings far better than untreated wood.
How hard is assembly?
It's the easiest bed we sell: panels snap together by hand with no tools, typically in a few minutes per unit. The assembly guide is linked above if you'd like to see the steps before you order.
Can I make it taller or longer later?
Yes! That's the point of the modular design. Stack additional units to add height for deeper soil and easier access, or use extension kits to add length. Many customers start with one bed and grow their honeycomb over a few seasons.
What warranty does it come with?
The bed carries a 5-year limited warranty from the manufacturer against defects under normal residential use. Keep your proof of purchase, and if anything goes wrong, reach out and we'll help you through the claim.
Whether you're planting your first salad bed or designing a full honeycomb garden, the hexagonal raised bed makes it easy to start small and expand. Browse our full raised planters collection to compare shapes and sizes, or contact us with questions
